Niger Delta Advancement Awards 8.0. finally unveiled the list of nominees after its earlier call for nominations ended. The Unveiling, which is an interactive session took place at PHLAT4 Event Centre, Port Harcourt on Tuesday 16th, September 2025. According the President/Founder, Mr. Oxford T. Okpalefe, “there was a huge increase in public participation as over 50,000 entries were received majorly from Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ondo, Imo and Abia states.
With the closing of nominations, sorting of entries, research and evaluation, consultations with stakeholders and compiling of the list of nominees took place. After that, we carefully did configuration for online voting to ensure a smooth voting process for members of the public. After the unveiling, voting starts on the website”. Speaking further, he said; “we have 56 categories and 840 nominees in this edition that will battle for win.

When a nominee relaxes, you never can tell what the nominee in another state is doing”. On where the event will hold, he said “at the Unveiling for 7.0 edition, we stated it clearly that the event will hold every year in Port Harcourt except there is a sponsorship from a state government that is when we will host it in another state”.
